Commercial Storyboards
Ahead of the holidays, football legends Richard Sherman and Ryan Fitzpatrick teamed up with Amazon to help deliver packages in Amazon’s new electric delivery vans. Watch the full video here.
To mark the 20th anniversary of Kelis’ “Milkshake,” Lactaid and Kelis remixed the iconic single to remind viewers that they can enjoy a milkshake made with real dairy without the stomach discomfort. As someone who’s lactose intolerant, storyboarding this music video was a dream! Watch the music video here.
For Amazon Prime Day 2023, the company tapped TikTok queen Charli D’Amelio to announce the highly anticipated shopping dates from Amazon HQ in Seattle. Because this was an announcement made for social media, all the action had to fit within the 9x16 vertical format. Watch her TikTok here.
For this project, I especially loved finding ways to amp up the comedy in my director’s script through gestures and expressions. After the initial storyboard review, my director tasked me with fleshing out the “end-of-the-night pizza disappointment” scene so the panels could be exported and used as a reference tool for casting our quirky yet immensely relatable main character. I might be biased, but I don’t think there could have been a better actor cast for the role! Take a look at the final 60-second commercial here or the 30-second commercial here.
What’s a more perfect combo than gaming and grub? For this Grubhub collaboration with PUBG Mobile, I created these storyboards to illustrate the new Grubhub-branded PUBG Mobile Vehicle Skin in action. This project posed a fun challenge as I worked closely with the director and producer to board an exciting, cinematic sequence that could work within the boundaries of the game and its gameplay camera. Watch the final result here.
To drum up excitement leading up to Amazon Prime Day 2022 and generate buzz for the new Amazon Glow device, the Amazon Devices team tapped celebrity “momager” Kris Jenner to lend her authentic voice and endorsement as both a busy professional on-the-go and a loving grandmother. Working alongside the brand’s creative agency and production team, I created these storyboards taking special care that the connection between Kris and her granddaughter Dream feels genuine and close – thanks to Amazon’s new interactive device – despite being miles apart. Watch the full advert on Kris’ Instagram here or the 30-second version here.
For this regional summer campaign, Grubhub deployed a series of adverts to connect its solutions – reliable delivery, new convenience offerings, and delicious restaurant variety – to relatable New York City moments. Think: meeting up with friends at a picnic after staying out late the night before, finding the city’s best bagel, or dreading the 5-flight of stairs to pick up more paper towels. It was a big treat to see my own experiences translated from life to storyboard to life again in the final videos – not to mention a skosh of my comedic camera work (love a simple rack focus to sell in that paper-towel despair)! See how these storyboards compare to the final product here.
For summer, Amazon Go created local commercials to promote its delicious food and drinks for breakfast and lunch on-the-go. I loved the opportunity to illustrate these food beauty shots and board them in-action with symmetrical, split-screen transitions from pouring frothy milk to sprinkling crunchy granola. Watch the final videos here.
Similar to the spot below, I created these storyboards for the winter continuation of this Grubhub Guarantee campaign – this time ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics and with a new set of incredible athletes. Of course, talent and final shots are subject to change from boards to shoot to post, but I was so excited to see that most of the proposed talent and many of the clever directorial decisions, including the Nathan Chen x spaghetti spin match-cut, made it into the final product. Check out the final 60-second spot here.
For this Grubhub project, I created storyboards for a hero compilation of spots featuring 4 Olympic athletes. The purpose of these boards was to define the director’s vision with clear visuals of the concept the clients could rally behind. The boards were also referenced by the crew throughout production. This was a quick-turn project that launched just 3 weeks after storyboard approval – just in time for the Tokyo Summer Olympics! View the final product here.
